Elijah Wood's first impression: Wicked! In a surprise visit to the WXP demo room at E3, Elijah Wood (who plays Frodo in the movie adaptation of Fellowship of the Ring) got a chance to see WXP's game. His first impression? "Wicked!". Although it was a bit surreal to be demoing the Lord of the Rings game to Frodo himself, the demo went well and we even got a chance to geek out with Elijah on the topic of Tolkien trivia. Who'da thunk? Fellowship of the Ring to be shown at E3 WXP will be showing The Fellowship of the Ring behind closed doors at E3. The Fellowship of the Ring is a third-person action/adventure game set in the world of Middle-Earth. In the game, players take the persona of Frodo Baggins, an unassuming hobbit who has been unwittingly thrust into a battle between good and evil. FOTR will be released in early 2002 for the Xbox video game system. One Ring to Rule Them All Many of you have been wondering what WXP has been up to recently, and I'm finally able to fill you in: Vivendi Universal Publishing (the parent company of WXP's publisher, Sierra) announced today that they've signed an eight year license agreement with Tolkien Enterprises to create multiple games based on The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. The first game as part of this agreement will be The Fellowship of the Ring, an action/adventure title developed by WXP and scheduled for release in early 2002. All of us at WXP are very excited to be working with Sierra, and together we’ve already come a long way in the development of The Fellowship of the Ring. We’re confident the game will truly immerse gamers in the world of Middle Earth. Earthquake hits WXP On Wednesday, February 28th, Seattle was struck by a 6.8 magnitude earthquake. WXP's building was hit particularly hard and we were forced to relocate our company.
